In possession of the Certificates of Qualification and Regional Training referred to in art. 10 of Law 257/92 and of D.P.R. 08/08/94; the company is registered in the waste management register for category 10 / B class D.

Both requirements are necessary to be able to supervise all the interventions of remediation and maintenance that involve Materials Containing Asbestos (M.C.A.).

Asbestos

Asbestos is a substance of a mineral nature. It can be found in various chemical forms, even if even if at the base of each of them there is a common chemical composition, consisting of silica, iron and magnesium. The different percentage of these substances in the different types of asbestos justifies their differentiation for what concerns some characteristics, including:

  • colour: it goes from white to grey, from green to brown, from yellow to blue;
  • resistance to acid, alkaline and traction:
  • temperature: of decomposition and melting;
  • density.

There are six most common varieties of asbestos and they are part of two groups as follows.

All the varieties of asbestos are made up of fibres (solid particles whose length / width or diameter ratio is equal to or greater than three).

During processing asbestos has a particular behaviour that differentiates it from other fibres such as that of glass.

While these can in fact can break transversely, the glass fibres are selected only longitudinally, always maintaining the original length. The asbestos fibres are very dense and extremely thin. In fact, if in a linear centimetre it is possible to arrange 250 hairs side by side, or 500 wool fibres, or 1,300 nylon fibres it is also possible to arrange as many as 335,000 asbestos fibres.

The fibrous structure confers the asbestos with a remarkable mechanical resistance and great flexibility. Asbestos is resistant to fire and heat, to chemical and biological agents, abrasion and wear  (thermal and mechanical). It can be easily spun and woven. It also has sound absorbency as well as thermal insulation properties. It easily binds with building materials (lime, plaster, cement) and with some polymers (rubber, PVC).
